I hate to post near back to back tear-jerkers, but sadly, this is a reality that many of us are dealing with. Life has a way of kicking you when you're down, of making you stumble back three steps for every one you take, and reminding you that it's not easy in this earthly grind. This is another one of those stories.
Melissa, one of our very own here in the Fawn Family, is living in the aftermath of gastric bypass surgery. While I know there are many success stories with this surgery, there are also a lot of people that have suffered the catastrophic side effects, her story being one of them. She says it better than I ever could. She has recorded and uploaded a YouTube video telling her story. You can view it on her gofundme page (just click the gofundme image at the bottom of this post), and of course, if you feel so inclined to help her with her goal, you can do so right there.
With that being said, please know that if you are in a position where you can't help, there is ABSOLUTELY NOTHING to apologize for, feel bad about, or beat yourself up over. I cannot stress that enough. We all have to put food on the table, clothes on our back, and pay rent. That's life, and no one is holding that against you. However, if you can spare anything, even one dollar, it all adds up. With over 9,000 subscribers (granted, they're not all subscribed to the blog and the ones that are won't all read this blog post (for that reason we will mention it in a future video too)), a one-dollar donation from everyone would blow past her goal and give her the confidence she needs to smile again. Never doubt the effects that the tiniest of actions you take can have.
You can also show her some love in the comments on her video on YouTube or by contacting her from the gofundme page. I can't stress enough just how much I love and appreciate all of you. This community is so amazing and so supportive of one another, and I thank you in advance for all of your help, kind words, love, and support. I can only imagine how hard it was for her to reach out with her story. Let's show her some love! Love you guys!
